L'Hotel Blaumar Cadaqués est un hôtel familial situé à 2 minutes à pied de la plage, dans la baie de Cadaqués. Occupant un bâtiment de style traditionnel aux tons bleus et blancs, il dispose d'une piscine extérieure en saison et d'une terrasse bien exposée.
Les chambres lumineuses bénéficient de vues panoramiques. Elles arborent une décoration rustique et sont revêtues de parquet traditionnel de Catalogne. Toutes comprennent une télévision par câble à écran plasma et une salle de bains privative tandis que certaines possèdent un balcon.
Une promenade de 10 minutes vous mènera au centre du village où vous trouverez de nombreux commerces, bars et restaurants.
L'établissement dispose d'une zone Wi-Fi gratuite, d'un service de location de vélos et vous pourrez en outre partir en randonnée dans le parc naturel du Cap de Creus. La crique et la maison-musée de Salvador Dali, à Portlligat, sont accessibles en 10 minutes à pied.
Un parking privé est mis à disposition moyennant un supplément. La ville de Figueras est située à 40 km. Gérone et son aéroport se trouvent à 70 minutes en voiture.

Traditionnellement village des pêcheurs, à partir des années 50, elle s'est ouverte au tourisme. Et elle a été visité pendant le dernier siècle par un grand nombre d'artistes: Picasso, Matisse, Max Ernst, Federico García Lorca (invité par le propre Dalí à sa maison pendant l'été quand ils étaient étudiants à Madrid), etc.
La situation géographique de Cadaqués est exceptionnelle. Sa baie est le plus grand port naturel de la Costa Brava. Des bateaux de toutes les dimensions s'y amarrent pendant l'été. L'arrivée au village nous oblige a passer par le Parc Naturel du Cap de Creus, une vraie péninsule qui repose sur un assisse géologique de plus de 400 millions d'années. Aujourd'hui est classée comme espace naturel protégé.
La plage de Cadaqués est comme Dalí la peint: étroite et pierreuse... mais qui cherche Cadaqués pour sa plage? Le village est plein d'attractions culturelles incontournables. D'abord, la maison de Salvador Dalí, à la baie voisine de Portlligat, un des éléments du triangle dalinien. Elle est située au coeur de décors de rêve, après vers le port naturel de Portlligat. Après il y a les galléries d'art qui sont situés dans le centre. Aussi dans le centre on doit visiter l'église de Santa María, du XVII siècle, d'architecture gothique tardive ,entourée par des nombreuses ruelles que se dirigent vers la plage.Le musée de Cadaqués comprend des oeuvres de Dalí et d'autres artistes locaux.
Mais aussi Cadaqués est un village de café et bars au pied de plage. Le vieux quartier est plein de boutiques de mode et des magasins artisanaux. A partir de pâques il se rempli de touristes et la plupart des boutiques restent ouverts pendant toute l'année.
Sans doute Cadaqués est une visite obligatoire pour tous ceux qui veuillent connaître l'essence de la Costa Brava et, surtout, l'universe dalinéen.

Not much I began to wonder, having read other reviews of this hotel, whether we had come to the same place! The room was small and only adequately furnished. The 'balcony' only had room for one [small] chair. There was no mini bar or fridge.The bed was, as usual, hard, but the worst thing of all was that the AC was turned off for the winter (in the middle of September, with OAT in the mid-20s and high humidity) which gave two 'sweaty' nights). The bathroom was small, so in order to dry oneself, one had to step outside. The mirror was too far away and the selection of toiletries poor. What was worst of all, was that there was no handle to assist old duffers to step into and out of the [over-bath] shower - someone will fall and break a leg. Everything was 'extra' - car parking, breakfast, and even if you brought your own baby cot that was €10 extra. |

It was calm and restful, although I sensed it was a little too formal in some ways that I can't quite put my finger on. It was very quiet and I think all the rooms face over the town and to the bay of Cadaques. A short walk to the Dali house in Port Lligat too. The hotel is a little out of town but the walk is truly lovely - though less so with luggage, so not one for less than a few nights. The swimming pool is very deep which is fine for swimmers but it was overwhelming for my 7 year old who has just started. We bought her a float and it was fine, but I was surprised the hotel didn't keep floats to loan. The pool opening times were too rigid - I think 11.30am-8pm - as in summer I like to be able to have an early morning and / or late night swim. The breakfast was overpriced for what you get. |
